Pedestrian Latara Worthy run over, killed in Union City
A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning on South Fulton Parkway in Union City.
Union City Police said 29-year-old Latara Worthy was run over during the incident that occurred just east of Mason Road at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Police blocked off the road for several hours as medical examiners removed the victim’s body from the scene.
One woman said this stretch of road is dangerous and that she almost hit someone last week.
“There was someone very close walking in the opposite direction, almost in my lane. And it’s dark out here; you can’t see,” Brenda Pate told Channel 2’s Erica Byfield.
Police said they are still trying to get a description of the vehicle that killed the victim.
